Bree Mellberg was a national junior champion in diving and represented Australia at the FINA world junior diving championships in 2008. After switching to wheelchair basketball, she made her international debut with the Gliders at the Osaka Cup in 2017.
Bree’s move to wheelchair basketball was part of her rehabilitation after she broke her neck in a trampoline accident. She showed promise almost immediately and at the Women’s Festival of Wheelchair Basketball in Sydney in 2015 she won the Emerging Glider award.
Away from sport, Bree is completing a PhD in Science with a focus on genetics and cell biology.
