New era begins at VIS

​The Victorian Institute of Sport today welcomed its new CEO Nicole Livingstone OAM OLY.

As a three-time Olympic swimmer, foundation VIS athlete and high-profile sports administrator and commentator, Nicole is no stranger to the VIS or high-performance sport.

Nicole comes to the VIS after seven seasons in charge of the national AFLW competition, succeeding Anne Marie Harrison who stepped down last month after 18 years in the role.

VIS chair, Nataly Matijevic, welcomed Nicole to what she described as a time of rare opportunity for high-performance sport in Australia, with the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon.

“The VIS is well-positioned to continue playing its vital role in the Australian high-performance eco-system and Nicole, as a high calibre administrator and former athlete, has the pedigree and leadership qualities to see that we do,” Ms Matijevic said.

“We will continue to honour a rich past, nurture our people and embrace the need to keep evolving and pushing high-performance boundaries. Success in Sport and Life will continue to be our guiding principle.”
