Two in Two Days

VIS’ Sam Gallagher headlined the 2019 UCI Junior Track Worlds in Germany last week with two silver medals over two days.

Gallagher won silver in the keirin on day two after winning team sprint silver on the opening day of competition.

And in incredible fashion, fellow VIS athlete Graeme Frislie overcame two crashes to win silver in the four-race omnium event.

After placing third in both the scratch and tempo races, Frislie was caught up in two crashes in the elimination race before fearlessly claiming third. Frislie then finished off the competition in an epic battle in the points race to move up the standings and take home the silver medal.

VIS’ Bill Simpson (Madison) and Ashlee Jones (Team Pursuit) both finished 8th in their respective events.
