The Australian Open Diving Championships were held last week in Adelaide, which also doubled as trials for World Championship selections. VIS athletes made a splash with some awesome results!
Anabelle Smith continued her stellar season to finish on top of the podium in the Women’s 3m Synchro with Maddison Keeney (WA).
New VIS scholarship holder Shixin Li took home the gold in the Men’s 3m Synchro with Matthew Carter (SA), as well as a silver for the Men’s 1m and 3m Springboard.
Up and coming diver Emily Chinnock also finished with a Silver in Women’s Platform.
Congratulations to VIS athletes Anabelle Smith, Laura Hingston and Shixin Li who have been selected to represent Australian at the 18th FINA World Championships in South Korea.
Also congratulations to Diving National Head coach, Andy Banks who was recently awarded an MBE for his contribution to diving!
