Moloney a Diamond again

Netball Australia has announced that VIS/Melbourne Vixen Netballer Kate Moloney will join the Samsung Diamonds in the upcoming four-match Constellation Cup series, which commences in Brisbane this upcoming Sunday.

VIS scholarship holder, Moloney will compete in the first two matches of the series in Brisbane and Townsville. 

Moloney will join the team Thursday 4 October in Brisbane when the team reconvenes for the Constellation Cup and Price will meet the team in New Zealand for the final leg of the tour on Thursday 11 October.

In other VIS Netball news, Four VIS Netball Development Program athletes have been named in Netball Australia’s 2018-2019 National Talent Squad, identified as some of Australia’s brightest emerging talent.

Victorian Institute of Sport’s Tayla Honey, Jane Cook, Kelsie Rainbow and Rudi Ellis were those selected in the squad.

At just 20 years of age, Cook comes into the squad with a wealth of experience. She claimed the 2018 Deakin University Australian Netball League premiership after scoring 37 goals in the Grand Final.

Joining her is 21-year-old Tayla Honey, having recently signed her first contract with the Melbourne Vixens she comes into the squad with confidence and continues to grow as a player.  

2018 Victorian Fury defender, Rudi Ellis has also been named in the squad, after a stellar season on court for which she received the Fury’s Coaches Award.
