The VIS women’s hockey program were host to their Western Australian Institute of Sport counterparts last week, as the girls went head-to-head in a three-match series.
There was a variety of results over the three games. The VIS won the first battle 3-2, lost the second 1-0 and drew in the final match 1-1.
VIS hockey player, Sophie Taylor, was thrilled with the opportunity to play against the WAIS athletes.
“As a team we worked into the week, with connections developing among the girls. Although we didn’t capitalise on all opportunities, it provided the team with a great opportunity to play some high quality games,” she said.
The U21 component of the team will now turn their focus to the Australian Championships in July, whilst a selection of the team will prepare for upcoming training camps around the country.
