VIS’ India Robinson has taken out the Gold Coast leg of the Hydralyte Sports Surf Series presented by Billabong at Currumbin Beach.
Robinson took out the competition in style, recording one of the highest single wave scores of the weekend, with an almost perfect score of 9.00.
She proved the previous ride was no fluke, backing-up a score of 7.25 putting daylight between her and her field of contenders.
Robinson was happy with her performance and says this “awesome feeling” helps after a tough start to the year.
“I’ve had a really rough start to the year so it was cool to make the final and take the win, especially against some of the toughest junior women surfers.” Robinson said.
“I’ve been focusing on the Qualifying Series for a while now so to come back into the JQS and have a win is an awesome pay off.
“I wasn’t thinking much about the World Junior Championship because of the start I had this year but I suppose now it could become more of a focus for me.”
