Summary…
In a desperately close and thrilling gold medal match, VIS’ Jo Weston, Liz Watson and their Australian Diamond team mates had to settle for silver against the most professional and proficient team England has ever fielded.
England scored a goal right on the buzzer to seal victory, after a neck-and-neck tussle that left players and spectators emotionally drained.
Neither side led by a margin of more than four goals throughout the match.
Although a disappointing result, the girls still played a fantastic tournament, breaking numerous records, including Australia scoring the most goals they have ever scored against New Zealand (65).
