Victorian Institute of Sport hockey player Aaron Kleinschmidt was instrumental in the Kookaburras 2-0 gold medal victory over New Zealand.

Kleinschmidt scored the opener in the second quarter, which immediately meant the Kiwis had to take a few risks to get past the Australians.

It was Kleinschmidt’s third goal for the tournament.

The gold medal was a rewarding result for the Kookaburras outfit who went undefeated throughout the whole tournament.
