Off only four days of water skiing practice, Victorian Institute of Sport athlete Jacinta Carroll reclaims her Moomba Masters jumps title for a fifth time on Melbourne’s Yarra River.
Recently Carroll has been pursuing an elite weightlifting career, as well as water skiing, which limited her to only four days of practice before Moomba.
The five-time champion improved on last year’s winning jump of 56.7m, to an impressive 57.1m in the final, to claim her fifth Moomba Master Jumps title.
Carroll cleaned the field, winning by more than four metres. Natalia Berdnikava finished second with a final jump of 52.8m.
Carroll’s jump was only 3m short of her personal best – 60.35m.
The victory marks five undefeated years and 35 unbeaten jumps.
