Paralympic Team Co-Captain Mitchell Gourley and Jonty O’Callaghan commenced their quest for Paralympic Alpine Gold at the PyeongChang Winter Paralympics on Saturday.
Rising temperatures were not kind to the duo with Gourley having to settle for a 12th placed finish in the Super G event on the Sunday, however he believes he skied better in his opening downhill event on the Saturday despite coming away with a DNF.
Gourley believes it is the best he’s ever skied in the Paralympics.
Teammate and fellow VIS athlete O’Callaghan crashed out in the same event after suffering a difficult day with his suit popping briefly before the start and having to be repaired with duck tape.
