Sergei Evgelevski has won the men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at the World University Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur.
Only three weeks out from the Commonwealth Games, Evgelevski’s showed he will be a contender at the Commonwealth Games, performing strongly under pressure. Evgelevski went into the final round trailing South Korea’s Lee Jae-kyoon by two shots.
Evglevski hit four targets on the final round, though, to his rival’s one, which saw the Australian shooter grasp the gold.
Shooting begins at Gold Coast 2018 on 8 April.
