Kookaburras go back-to-back

The Kookaburras have claimed back-to-back Hockey World League titles after edging out Argentina in what was described as a ‘heart-stopping’ victory in Bhubaneswar.

VIS athlete, Aaron Kleinschmidt, was part of the 2-1 defeat over the 2016 Rio Olympic gold medallists.

The Kookaburras scored in the 17^th and 58^th minute respectively, with Argentina scoring in the 18^th minute from a penalty corner.

In what was a significant victory for the Kookaburras, they rewrote the world rankings to claim top spot and their final game of 2017. The FIH World League victory is a key stepping stone toward their 2018 Commonwealth Games campaign.
