The Hockeyroos have made a clean sweep of their test series against Japan in Adelaide, defeating Japan 8-1 in the final match to take the series on Saturday.
VIS scholarship holder, Madi Ratcliffe played a key role in the success of the Hockeyroos on Saturday, scoring the first and last goals in the seven point win for the Hockeyroos.
She was joined on the pitch by fellow VIS scholarship holder, Lily Brazel.
Earlier in the week, the Hockeyroos took two commanding victories over Japan, defeating them 5-1 and 2-1, to bounce back from their 2-3 loss to Japan in the International Festival of Hockey the week prior.
Ratcliffe said that the series win was a great way to finish off the season.
“It’s been a really successful Test series here in Adelaide, especially on the back of the International Festival of Hockey where they got the better of us.”
Over in Men’s Hockey, VIS scholarship holder, Aaron Kleinschmidt has been named in the Kookaburras side for next month’s World League Finals in Bhubaneswar, India.
