Women's Hockey to take on Japan

The Australian women’s development hockey team have had a tough start to their tour of Japan, with two draws and a win.

The development tour, which aims to give developing athletes exposure to the game at an international levels, sees VIS scholarship holders, Meg Pearce, Lily Brazel, Hayley Padget and Sophie Taylor take to the pitch.

Playing against a Japanese club team, the Australian side got off to a tough start drawing their first two games 2-2 and 3-3. It was only in their final match that the Australians finally managed to pull off a win, dominating the scoreboard 4-1.

The women’s development side are now preparing to take on the national Japanese side in four matches set to be played later this week.
