Women's Hockey finds success in Japan

The Australian Women’s Development team have wrapped up their Tour of Japan, securing three wins and a draw against the national Japanese side in their four-match friendly test series.

The side, which sees VIS scholarship holders Meg Peace, Lily Brazel, Hayley Padget and Sophie Taylor compete for their country, backed up their performance last week with more success on the pitch.

The side got off to a strong start in the friendly matches, taking the first two wins 3-2, 2-1 before encountering some difficulty against the home side, with their third match ending in a 2-2 draw. The Australians bounced back from the draw to win the final match of the series 1-0.

The test series against the national Japanese side wrapped up the Australian Women’s Development Tour of Japan, which aimed to give developing athletes exposure to the game at an international level.
