Reynolds defends her crown

Amanda Reynolds has defended her KL3 Women’s 200 sprint para-canoe title, at the ICF Sprint Canoe World Championships over the weekend.

In perfect conditions, the Rio silver medallist stormed home to gold ahead of Uzbekistan’s Shaknoza Mirzaeva and Romania’s Mihaela Lulea.

The first place result was something of a redemption for the VIS scholarship holder, after a disappointing semi-final on Wednesday.

“I felt a lot more controlled than yesterday. Yesterday was just a panic paddle I think,” Reynolds said.

“I think I just had to get my head back together and get back on top of it,” she said.
