A selection of Victorian Government staff members had the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of Australia’s Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and World Champions at the VIS last week.
The guests visited our world-class facilities at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park to participate in a VIS High Performance Sport experience.
They learned first-hand about the VIS services and got involved in training and testing opportunities provided by the VIS sport science, strength & conditioning and coaching staff. Dual Olympic Silver Medallist Joshua Dunkley-Smith (rowing), multiple Paralympic medallist and World Champion Carol Cooke (para-cycling), and dual-Olympian Rowie Webster (water polo) were on hand for the event to display their medals and talk about life as an elite athlete.
VIS Chairman Nicole Livingstone said, “This unique experience allowed our guests to see inside the “inner sanctum” here at the VIS.”
