O'Brien strikes gold in Japan

VIS scholarship holder Kell O’Brien, found himself on top at the Japan Track Cup earlier this month wrapping up the tournament with two gold and a bronze.

Alongside Australian teammate Sam Welsford, the duo took home gold in the Elite Men’s Madison and the Elite Men’s 40km Madison, dominating the competition.

O’Brien broke up the week of Madisons with a third place finish in the Omnium behind teammate Sam Welsford who took home the gold.

O’Brien’s podium finishes only add to his long list of achievements this year, including a World Championship title in the Men’s Team Pursuit at the UCI Track World Championships in Hong Kong.
