Nutrition Tip | Meal Hacks

Too busy to cook dinner? Who doesn't want dinner on the table in less than 20mins after coming home from work, university or training? Wouldn’t it be ideal if there was minimal washing afterwards too? Well here are some nutritious foods that can be prepared for a meal without even turning on the stove or getting out the chopping board.

1. Salmon in the sandwich press - Your trusty sandwich press does much more than just simply prepare yummy cheese toasties. Preheat the sandwich press until it is very hot and place a sheet of baking paper over it. Sprinkle some herbs of choice (dill or rosemary) and black pepper onto the baking paper and squeeze lemon over the salmon portion. Place salmon on top of the herbs and close the sandwich press. Set the timer for 2 minutes (depending how well you like your salmon cooked) and remove salmon when done to your liking.

2. Microwaved sweet potato - Whilst roasted sweet potato is arguably the tastiest way to enjoy this vegetable, sometimes we're really pressed for time. Slash the cooking time by cooking it in the microwave instead! Microwave it on high for about 9-10 minutes (times may vary) or until done to your liking. Cut into smaller pieces and serve with the salmon.

3. Microwave a packet of frozen vegetables … and there you have a complete meal in under 20 minutes with minimal cleaning up afterwards!
