VIS sailors, Will and Sam Phillips, have snagged a bronze a medal in the Men’s 49er class at Kiel Week in Kiel, Germany.
Despite a difficult path to the podium after finishing 5th in their medal race, the duo managed to outclass their opposition to finish 3rd overall.
The win ultimately went to fellow Australia David Gilmour and Joel Turner who accrued an unassailable lead of 20 points before the final day of racing.
The podium finish for the VIS scholarship holders was one of many attained by Australian sailors at the Kiel Week regatta.
