Sports Nutrition Internship 2017

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic, aspiring Sports Dietitian to join the VIS Nutrition Team, to gain valuable practical experience in preparing elite athletes and working alongside some of Australia’s leading Sports Dietitians. 

The successful candidate will work within the VIS nutrition team to help us educate our athletes by developing and running practical workshops & displays, engaging in social media, developing resources and other activities as required.  They will also be required to provide support to the department on other relevant projects as they arise.

It will be highly regarded if the applicant has completed the 4 day SDA Sports Nutrition Course, with a minimum of ISAK Level 1 accreditation and a working with children check.  To complement this experience you will also need to possess outstanding communication skills, be self-motivated, able to work in an integrated environment and above all, be focused on athlete wellbeing at all times.

This unpaid voluntary placement is for approximately 4-8 hours per week flexible over a 12 month period, commencing in July 2017.  The position will be based at the Victorian Institute of Sport in Albert Park with occasional visits to outside training venues.
