VIS Shooter Emma Cox finished fifth in the Women’s Trap Final at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun held in Acapulco, Mexico on Monday.
American shooter Ashley Carroll took out the event, in the second stage of the ISSF World Cup Shotgun for the 2017 season. The next World Cup stage is set to be held in Larnaka, Cyprus from 28 April to 8 May.
Cox’s World Cup final qualification follows last week’s successful launch of the new VIS Pistol Program, part of the new VIS Pistol and Shotgun program.
The program, run in conjunction with Shooting Australia, will see the VIS lead the nation in pistol and shotgun athlete development.
The pistol program launched last week with the first pistol training camp, while the shotgun program will roll out in late April.
