Day seven was the first day of competition in road cycling, and Australia had a successful day, winning a total of six medals in the time trial events.
55 year old Carol Cooke successfully defended her women’s road cycling time trial T1-2 title she won in London.
She completed the 20km time trial in a time of 26.11.40, finishing 38 seconds clear of silver medallist Jill Walsh of United States.
Alistair Donohoe added to his silver medal on the track with another runner-up finish in the C5 class time trial, registering a time of 37:33.36 behind Ukrainian gold medallist Yehor Dementyev.
In hand cycling, Stuart Tripp took the silver medal in the H5 class time trial, with a time of 28:39.55 behind gold medallist and former Formula one driver Alessandro Zanardi of Italy, who defended his title from London.
