Alcott overcomes odds to win gold

Australian duo Dylan Alcott (VIS) and Heath Davidson (Victorian) have come from behind to win the tennis quad doubles gold medal at the Rio Paralympics.

Alcott and Davidson dropped the first set to the US pair and reigning Paralympic champions Nick Taylor and David Wagner 6-4, before fighting their way back into the contest to win the next two sets 6-4, 7-5.

The victory gives Alcott his second Paralympic gold medal after winning the wheelchair basketball competition with the Rollers at the Beijing Games in 2008.

Alcott will have the chance to claim a second Rio gold tomorrow in the final of the quad singles competition.

Alcott and Davidson's victory gives Australia an eighth gold medal of the Rio Paralympics, moving the Aussies to sixth on the medal table.
