Chris Erickson and Regan Lamble have both achieved top-10 finishes in the men’s and women’s 20km walk in Rio.
In hot and windy conditions, Chris Erickson walked a personal best of 3:48.40 at his third Games to finish 10th in an exceptional result.
In the women’s race, Lamble was in the lead pack for the first 10kms and valiantly tried to stay in touch as a group of seven broke away.
Lamble battled on strongly to cross the line ninth in a time of one hour, 30 minutes and 28 seconds, the third best performance by an Australian in the event’s short history.
