Aussies suffer second successive loss

Australia has suffer their second successive loss going down 1-0 to Belgium in their Group A clash.

The Australian men’s hockey team have suffered another shock 1-0 loss to a spirited Belgian side in their third pool game at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Aussies fell behind in the opening quarter and that was the only score of the match with the Belgian’s very defensive tactics frustrating the world’s No.1 team.

The Aussies started their campaign with an unconvincing victory over local rivals New Zealand on the opening day of the Games. The performance against the Kiwis would not have filled fans with confidence, and those fears were realised against Spain in game two, losing 2-1.  Another desperately underwhelming performance from Australia against Belgium today sees them with all the work in the world to do to get out of the group stages.
