Gerrans gets third chance at Olympic glory

Simon Gerrans will become just the fourth Australian male to line up in three Olympic Games teams in the road cycling discipline.

With over a decade of experience in the saddle, VIS scholarship holder Simon Gerrans will become just the fourth Australian male to line up in three Olympic Games teams in the road cycling discipline.

Meanwhile, VIS BMX rider Bodi Turner will make his Olympic debut in Rio after being named in the five-strong Australian BMX line-up. Having overcome a broken collarbone sustained during competition at the Oceania Continental Championships in late January, Turner will get his chance on sport’s greatest stage after rising through the ranks in the past couple of years to be among the world’s elite.
