Rowe chasing Rio time

In an attempt to post a Rio Olympic qualifying time, Alex Rowe headed to the nation’s capital for the ACT High-Noon Series in Canberra last weekend.

At the bell lap Rowe went through in a swift 51.3 seconds, but unfortunately an unforseen incident involving the pacemaker cruelled Rowe’s chances of a quick time and he faded to third in 1:48.88.

Rowe has returned for Melbourne for a month and a half before he heads to Europe and a fresh campaign to nail that elusive Olympic qualifying mark of 1:46.00 mark.
