How does the VIS support your career in high performance sport?
My team has been the steady force behind every part of this journey and I truly couldn’t do it without them. They make sure I’m the best athlete I can be when I stand on top of the 10m platform, but also ensure my development as an even better person when I step outside the pool.
Most memorable sporting moment?
There are a few special ones, but my first World Championships stands out. Having my parents fly over to South Korea to watch made that moment and achievement even more special!
What do you enjoy most about your sport?
Diving is unique in the way it pushes you physically and mentally — confronting fear, staying present, holding strong focus, and continually redefining what I believe I’m capable of.
Advice to your younger self?
I’d tell my younger self to trust the process and train smarter, not harder. The earlier you learn this, the less time you’ll spend sidelined. Sometimes taking a small step back is the best way to move forward the next day. Listen to your body, be smart, speak up and lean on the team around you.
Go-to meal before competing?
It depends on the time of competition, but one constant is always having a banana in the marshalling room. Competition days are long and I burn through a lot of energy so fuel is king. I always have snacks on hand!
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?
Ohh, tricky! I feel my answer might change daily, but in the spirit of sport, I’d choose Roger Federer, Michael Jordan, and Serena Williams.
