What sport did you hold a scholarship for at VIS: Aerial Skiing
Time as VIS athlete: 2002 - 2018
Tell us about your life after your time as an athlete at the VIS?
Life after sport is difficult to navigate. I tried to make sure I was as prepared as possible by having a clear vision for what I’d do beyond sport. Having a family and an established business meant that my transition was fairly seamless. I was able to shift my focus from sport to my family and business. In saying that, it doesn’t mean it was easy. I had to close a significant chapter in my life and that’s always hard, but I was happy it was on my terms and I was ready.
What’s the one career achievement you’re most proud of?
I think Olympic Gold will always hold a special place in my heart.
What’s the most valuable lesson you learnt during your career as an athlete at the VIS?
I think it’s super important to ask for help when you need it. The VIS was always an open door for me and always a place where I felt supported and could ask for help. Whether it’s my family, friends or employees, I like to think I can always be there in support for other people when they’re in need.
