The VIS legacy is the leader of high-performance sport in the state, but the institute extends beyond elite sports through its impactful community program, Be Fit. Be Well, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024.
Victorians flocked to the Victorian Institute of Sport Open Day on Wednesday, 2 October, to share in an unofficial welcome home for many of the 122 VIS athletes who competed in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
122 Victorian Institute of Sport athletes competed in Paris across both Games, bringing home 23 medals and a lifetime of memories. 54 athletes made their debuts with others closing their final chapter.
