Lawn Bowls Review: Commonwealth Games

By Victorian Institute of Sport

August 2, 2020

Summary…

VIS Carla Krizanic and her Jackaroo bowls team created some history on the Gold Coast winning Australia’s first Commonwealth Games gold medal in more than 12 years.

After victory in the womens fours, Krizanic then went on to win another gold medal in the womens triples.

Krizanic admits that the crowd was just as much a part of the victory as anyone else.

The crowd here was absolutely amazing, Ive never played in front of a crowd like this, it definitely helped us the whole series, Kriaznic said.

We owe them a lot.

I never imagined how loud the crowd would be here and I think it really helped boost us, weve had so many close games along the way and I think they really got us over the line so we have a lot to thank them for.

We got a good start and they pegged back closer to us but weve been in that position in a lot of games so we had faith in each other and confidence that we could get over the line when it counted.

The number…

2/2… Two from two gold medals for VIS lawn bowler Carla Krizanic being a part of the winning Australian womens triples and fours team.

All results…

Womens Triples (Carla Krizanic): GOLD
