Sports Medicine

The VIS Sports Medicine team is made up of Sports and Exercise Physicians with extensive experience in high performance sport. Their proactive and innovative approach supports the prevention, early detection, and management of injuries and illness.

Working closely with other VIS athlete performance support teams in an interdisciplinary model, the Sports Medicine team provides a clinical plan for athletes’ physical and mental wellbeing.

Optimising athlete health in the daily performance environment and when travelling and competing.

Managing sport-specific illness in conjunction with other medical specialists.

R

Contributing to the diagnosis and management of injuries, together with the interdisciplinary team.

Providing advice around medications and supplements, including anti-doping risks, in conjunction with VIS sports dietitians.
