With 50 days to go until the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) is already celebrating with Victorian athletes named to represent Australia on the world stage.
The first wave of Victorian selections spans athletics, Para athletics, Para swimming and boxing, bringing together debutants, returning champions and some of the most exciting young talent in the country.

The group includes five debutants stepping onto the Commonwealth Games stage for the first time, alongside Peter Bol, Abbey Caldwell and Col Pearse, who arrive in Glasgow with medals and experience behind them.
More Victorian athletes are set to be named as the Australian team is finalised ahead of the Games, which run from 23 July to 2 August 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
As the countdown continues, VIS’s Be Fit. Be Well. community program will soon launch its free educational Digital Package for primary and secondary students in Victorian government schools, giving young Victorians a way to connect with the excitement of the Games and the athletes inspiring them.
