Sunday, 26 July saw VIS-supported athletes add another medal to the tally, with Breanna Scott claiming silver in the women’s all-around final in artistic gymnastics, scoring 52.900. VIS-supported athletes also picked up wins across netball, boxing and 3×3 wheelchair basketball, along with progression through the pool in swimming and Para swimming.
Scott delivered the day’s standout result, claiming silver in the women’s individual all-around final with a score of 52.900.
There were wins across the board for VIS-supported athletes on Day 3. In netball, the Australian Diamonds, featuring Jo Weston, Kate Moloney, Kiera Austin and Sophie Garbin, defeated England 66-47. Jacob Cassar won his men’s welterweight 65kg round of 16 bout against New Zealand, advancing him to the quarterfinals. Tomas Klein and the 3×3 wheelchair basketball team also had cause to celebrate, defeating Kenya 21-5.
There was plenty more for VIS-supported athletes to build on in the pool. Sam Williamson had another strong night, winning his men’s 50m breaststroke heat in 26.75 before backing it up with another first-place finish in the semi-final in 26.79, qualifying for tomorrow’s final. Henry Allan also progressed through the men’s 200m backstroke, finishing second in his heat in 1:59.34 before finishing fifth in the final in 1:57.05. Ella Ramsay finished fourth in the women’s 100m breaststroke final in 1:07.16

Athletics and Para athletics begin on Day 4, with Christopher Mitrevski in the men’s long jump and Stephanie Ratcliffe in the women’s hammer throw from 7pm to 10.30pm AEST, followed by Sarah Billings in round one of the women’s 800m, Yual Reath in the men’s high jump final, Lauren Ryan in the women’s 10,000m final, Daniel Milone in the men’s 1500m T20 final and Thomas McGough in the men’s 100m T37/38 final, all from 3.30am to 7am AEST on 28 July. In the pool, Ella Ramsay and Tara Kinder contest the women’s 400m individual medley heats from 7.30pm to 9pm AEST, with the final from 4am to 7am AEST, while Sam Williamson returns for the men’s 50m breaststroke final and Tara Kinder contests the women’s 50m breaststroke in the same session. Tomas Klein and the wheelchair basketball team face Canada from 8.30pm to 12.45am AEST, and Kate McDonald contests the women’s uneven bars final from 10pm to 2.30am AEST. Breanna Scott returns to the floor in the balance beam final at 10pm AEST on Tuesday 28 July, chasing another Commonwealth Games medal, and Jacob Cassar meets Canada’s Gabriel Labrie in the men’s welterweight 65kg quarter-final from 9pm to 12.15am AEST the same night.
