The Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) extends its warmest congratulations to our CEO, Nicole Livingstone AO, on being recognised as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in Mondays 2025 King’s Birthday Honours.
Already a recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Livingstones elevation to an AO is a significant and well-deserved honour that recognises her distinguished service to sport, particularly through leadership roles, advocacy for women in sport, and her enduring legacy as an elite athlete.
A triple Olympic swimmer competing at Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996, Livingstone AO continues to shape the future of high-performance sport in Australia as our VIS CEO.
AOC President Ian Chesterman congratulated Livingstone AO along with Tia-Clair Toomey AM, Stephen Handley OAM and John McAlary OAM and coach John JR Rodgers AM, on their recognition in the 2025 Kings Birthday Honours.
Nicole Livingstones Olympic journey continues to inspire, Mr Chesterman said.
Her leadership at the Victorian Institute of Sport is helping the next generation of athletes pursue their dreams with the same determination she showed in the pool.
She has been a champion for women in sport and a powerful advocate for community health. This recognition is a testament to Nicoles continued impact on Australian sport.
