VIS Advancement Series

A room of twenties high school students, listening to a female in her fifties present at the front of a room. She has long brown curly hair and is pointing to a powerpoint presentation on screen.

Take physical education beyond the classroom and into the daily performance environment of Victoria’s premier athletes, where students can learn the best practices of high performance sport and enhance their understanding of health, wellbeing, and athletic performance.

The VIS Advancement Series delivers sport science and nutrition education sessions to Victorian Government secondary school students thanks to direct support from the Victorian Government. Aligned with years 7–12 physical education and health curriculum and designed for high-ability students, VIS experts deliver sport science and nutrition sessions using real athlete examples, demonstrating how science supports success on the global stage.

  • Each visit is 1.5 hours in duration, including presentations and activity components.
  • Increase students’ knowledge of the role sport science strategies and interventions play in impacting and supporting athletes to achieve Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games success.
  • Students experience the testing protocols athletes use daily with VIS experts explaining what each test reveals and how it shapes training decisions on the journey to success.
  • Each visit runs for two hours and includes presentation, activities, athlete Q&A and facility tour.
  • Students learn practical nutrition skills covering food selection for different sports, reading nutrition labels, how to match energy needs to training and post-exercise recovery strategies.
  • Breakout sessions feature hands-on learning tasks and hear from a VIS athlete on how nutrition supports their health and performance.

  • This program is funded by the Victorian Government, Department of Education and Training, as part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series Student Excellence Program.
  • Currently, VIS Advancement Series visits are free for Victorian Government secondary schools, with limited spaces available for 2026. Get in quick and secure an experience students won’t forget!
  • Please download the VCES Registration form before booking.

Can I change the date and time after making a booking?

We will do our best to accommodate but changing your booking date and time is difficult. Our athletes and staff have very busy schedules, and once your booking is submitted, we soon begin contacting athletes and staff to secure availability. We kindly ask that you are confident in your selected date and time before confirming your booking.

Should attendees watch the induction video before arriving at VIS?

Yes. You will receive the induction video in your booking confirmation email.

We strongly recommend that all students view the induction video prior to arrival to ensure they are prepared for their visit.
