How does the VIS support your career in high performance sport?
The VIS are very supportive in balancing sport with my outside life, particularly exploring flexible study and career options with my Performance Lifestyle Adviser, Grace, that can work alongside full-time training and overseas travel.
My strength and conditioning coach, Cate, has accommodated my training when I'm home so I can balance it around my job, coaching gymnastics, and spending time with my family and friends.
Most memorable sporting moment?
Representing Australia in Canada for gymnastics in 2020 - it was my first time competing overseas.
What do you enjoy most about your sport?
Training outside in so many different environments and seeing so much of the world, as well as getting to know people in many different parts of the world.
Go-to meal before competing?
Yogurt bowl with granola and frozen raspberries.
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?
Tate Mcrae, Macklin Celebrini and Layne Beachley.
What do you enjoy doing outside of sport?
Hikes and camping, surfing with my sister and spending time with friends.
What was the turning point in your career that made you want to pursue this at a high performance level?
After I finished gymnastics at the senior international level, I took a year away from sport to focus on year 12 studies. Once I had finished school I found myself missing sport so I enquired into the Talent Transfer Program for aerial skiing that my gymnastics teammates - Sophie and Miriana - had moved into.
I joined the recruitment program just to see how I enjoyed being back in sport again, but instantly fell in love and knew this was what I wanted to keep doing.
