Paris 2024

The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in one of the world's most alluring and inspirational cities: Paris. The biggest international multi-sport event in the world will be played out on an unmistakably picturesque stage.

The Olympic Games will run over 18 days, from 26 July to 11 August. 

The Paralympic Games will open on 28 August and conclude 12 days later, on 8 September.

Hundreds of athletes training out of the Victorian Institute of Sport are seeking to qualify for Paris. The push for the qualification line is on.

The VIS Olympic/Paralympic page will keep you updated on the progress of VIS athletes and will be your home for information on all who qualify.

In person drop off:

Hand deliver your letter to the VIS reception and 'post' it in the Letters for Paris letterbox! Reception is located at the above address (large red brick building) and is open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. Please ring the intercom for entry. Our reception is also staffed by VIS athletes, giving you the opportunity to meet and greet an athlete whilst posting your letters. 

WIN a VIS Tour:

One luckyletter writer will win their class a VIS Tour! Learn about the VIS, meet an athlete, see the world-class facilities and test some equipment. To go in the draw please include your full name, school name and a school contact email (e.g your teachers email or reception). 

The winner will be drawn and notified after September 16 2024 - one week post Paralympic closing ceremony, to allow for letters to be written during the Games period.

Oceana Mackenzie officially named on the Australian Olympic Team headed to Paris

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has officially announced the selection of VIS sport climber, Oceana Mackenzie, to the Australian Olympic Team heading to Paris, marking her second Olympic campaign after competing at the sport's debut in Tokyo 2020.
