VIS’ Gronya Somerville and Setyana Mapasa swept through the first round of the Gold Coast tournament 21-3, 21-6  and progressed all the way to the semi-finals before confronting England.

Despite boasting a higher ranking than The Roses they went down 21-15, 21-15.

Gronya and Setyana then played a thrilling bronze medal match against highly ranked India before being edged out 21-19, 21-19 in a nail biter.
