Gabi Ash transition into the VIS Aerial Skiing Development Program after competing at a high level in diving as a teenager. Prior to diving, Ash also competed in Gymnastics and had a strong skiing background.
Ash made her competition debut at a Europa Cup event in Ruka, Finland, in December 2017, finishing in 15th place. She finished the 2017-2018 season with some encouraging Nor-Am performances, finishing in fourth place in Le Relais, Quebec, Canada, and sixth at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, USA.
During the 2018-2019 northern winter, Ash made her World Cup debut at Lake Placid, NY, USA, finishing in 22nd place.
Ash had a breakthrough 2019-2020 season, recording the first podium performances of her Aerial Skiing career, with bronze medal performances at the Lake Placid and Le Relais Nor-Am events.In 2020-2021, Ash recorded a personal best World Cup finish of seventh place in Deer Valley, USA. Ash also made her World Championship debut in Almaty, Kazakhstan, placing 15th, and a few days later finished in ninth place at a World Cup event at the same venue.
Her sister Sophie competes on the World Cup circuit for Australia in Mogul Skiing, and both girls will be aiming to make their Olympic debuts at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China.
