Successful showing for Smith

Monday, 10 April 2017

VIS athlete Anabelle Smith has had a successful performance at the Canada Cup over the weekend, walking away with two medals.

Smith won silver in the 3m individual springboard in the Canada Cup on Friday, and then produced another excellence performance with partner Kate Sheehan to take out bronze in the women’s synchronised springboard event.

Smith beat out Pamela Ware in the 3m individual with a score of 317.35 to take home the silver medal. It is the first time since mid-2016 that Smith has competed in the 3m individual springboard. Her success follows her silver medal win in the 3m synchronised event at the World Series event in China last month.

The Canada Cup is the second event in the FINA Diving Grand Prix. The FINA Diving Grand Prix continues in early May, where the Australian team will head to San Juan, Porto Rico to compete.
