Golf Victoria go back-to-back

Monday, 14 May 2018

Golf Victoria have again been crowned Australian Men’s Interstate Series champions, with VIS’ David Micheluzzi leading the charge last Friday.

Micheluzzi brought home the trophy, edging out Queensland in a nail-biting final, his conceded par on the last hole was enough for a 2-up win over Shae Wools-Cobb.

Due to Victoria being the top seed by total contests won through the week, they owned the tie-break edge in the final.

This proved an important edge as Michaeluzzi’s win at the last hole tied the scores at 4-4 and the title was thus decided.

“I can’t believe it right now,” said Micheluzzi who, along with Queensland young gun Jed Morgan, were the only unbeaten players all week.

“That was some of the hottest pressure I’ve ever played under and I’m really proud of myself, but most importantly all the boys, to have pulled that off.

“It just shows you never stop fighting. That was unbelievable.”

VIS’ Kyle Michel was also among the winners list and played his role in the victory.
