VIS Cycling Program Coaches | Track Sprint and Track Endurance

Following a restructure of the VIS Cycling program, the VIS is seeking two experienced, qualified and passionate high performance cycling coaches to lead the Sprint and Endurance disciplines of the program, ensuring the identification and development of athletes who have the potential to be medalists at future Olympics, Paralympics and World Championships.
Reporting to the VIS Performance Manager (Podium) you must possess the capacity to devise, understand and adapt “world leading practice” with innovation and daring to have a performance impact. To be successful in this busy role you will be outcome oriented and extremely organized, with significant high performance coaching experience and able to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of elite athletes and coaches.
The program is based in Melbourne, utilizing the expertise and facilities of the VIS in Albert Park, Melbourne, the Darebin International Sports Centre (DISC) Velodrome facility and various domestic and international venues.
You will require strong leadership, planning, communication and coordination skills given the role will involve significant time away from the VIS offices at training venues; involve working with and directing performance support staff; liaising with and supporting personal and club coaches and Cycling Australia and Victoria staff. Therefore a strong emphasis will be placed on the successful applicant having demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, and experience of working with and across multiple organizations and disciplines, along with the technical knowledge needed to be successful.
