VIS Rowers dominate Vic Champs

VIS scholarship holders medalled in eleven different events at the 2018 Victorian Rowing Championships on the weekend.

Callum Nott and Tom Hunt, won gold in the Men’s Open Pair and teamed up with fellow VIS rowers, Alexander Clarke, Benjamin Canham and James Rook, to also take gold in the Men’s Eight.

Canham and Clarke were also winners in the Men’s under 23 Pair.

In the Women’s events, Ria Thompson was again amongst the highlights collecting two gold medals in the Double Scull and the Quad, as well as a silver medal in the  Women’s Single Scull.

Women’s Under 23 Single Scull: Amanda Bateman (Gold)

Women’s Open Double Scull: Amanda Bateman, Ria Thompson (Gold), Fiona Albert (silver), Katie Michelmore (Bronze)

Women’s Open Pair: Georgie Howe (Gold)

Men’s Open Eight: Tom Hunt, Callum Nott, Alexander Clarke, Benjamin Canham, James Rook (Gold)

Men’s Open Four: Tom Hunt, Callum Nott, Alexander Clarke, Benjamin Canham (Bronze)

Women’s U21 Eight: Sky Froebel, Sophie Balson (Gold)
