Five to take aim in Russia

Five VIS athletes have been named in the Australian Shotgun World Championship team ahead of the ISSF Shotgun World Championships set to be held in Moscow, Russia in late August.

 

Reigning Women’s Trap World Cup gold medallist, Penny Smith, has been named in the Women’s Trap team alongside Rio Olympian Laetisha Scanlan and Rio gold medallist Catherine Skinner.

 

Aislin Jones is set to represent Australia in the Junior team after being named as the sole Australian competitor in the Women’s Skeet. The announcement follows an already successful 2017 season for Jones having finished 2nd in the Women’s Skeet at the ISSF Junior Grand Prix Shotgun.

 

Rio Olympian Mitchell Iles is also set to compete in the Men’s Trap and the Men’s Double Trap for the Junior Australian side.

 

The ISSF World Championship Shotgun will take place 30th August until 11th September in Moscow, Russia.
